Match-Up Zone
The Match-Up Feature at ZoneWon1 is designed to give Members a comparative view of NBA Game statistics in a given Match-Up between two NBA Teams. Each Match-Up details Statistics for key elements of the Match-Up including:
- Player Vitals
- Season Rankings and Wins
- NBA Game Odds
- Player Statistics
- Team Head to Head Statistics
- Recent Game Statistics and
- Season Team Statistics
The key feature of each Match-Up are the built in Algorithms that scores each NBA Game. These algorithms are broadly categorized into:
- Player algorithms
- Boxscore algorithms
- Head to Head algorithms
- Momentum algorithms
- Comparative algorithms
The Match-Up Feature at ZoneWon1 gives members the ability to dynamically adjust NBA game props for players and teams. These props include Away and Home settings, Starter and Bench settings and Team Rankings. These adjustments will result in changes to the algorithms that are used to calculate the results of the Match-Up.

Instructions for Using the Match-Up Feature
The Match-Up Feature at ZoneWon1.com is meant to be viewed on monitors no less than 24 inches in size. Due to the scope of NBA statistics it is necessary to view this feature on larger monitors. ZoneWon1.com does not optimize this feature for viewing on smaller devices such as tablets and smartphones. As such ZoneWon1.com advises that you use the Match-Up feature on a Desktop PC.
Match-Up Views
The Match-Up Feature of ZoneWon1.com can be accessed via the Match-Up Selector page or via the NBA Game Schedule page.
On the Match-Up Selector page Members have the ability to select which NBA Teams for the current NBA Season they wish to "Match-Up" against one another. While in the NBA Game Schedule page Members can select the "Match-Ups" from the list of NBA Games found on the Schedule Page by following the "Match-Up" links for each listed NBA Game.
The Match-Up Selector Page
The Match-Up Selector page gives Members the ability to select which NBA teams they would like to Match-Up against one another. Members are able to select the Away Team and the Home Team from the drop down list under "Select Away Team" or "Select Home Team".
Once the Away and Home Teams are selected an option to "Select Period" will appear.
From the drop down box below the "Select Period" title, Members can choose which Game Period to apply to the Match-Up. Members can select "Final" period for full time statistical comparisons or any of the other available periods:
- 1H - First Half
- 2H - Second Half
- 1st Q - First Quarter
- 2nd Q - Second Quarter
- 3rd Q - Third Quarter
- 4th Q - Forth Quarter
Once A Period is selected the Match-Ups Options page will appear that will allow Members to select Players and other Options they wish to apply to the Match-Up before proceeding to get the Match-Up for the Options the Members have selected to incorporate into the Match-Up calculations.
Match-Up from the NBA Game Schedule List
Alternatively, rather than Manually Selecting NBA Teams, Members can select a Match-Up from the list of NBA Games found in the NBA Game Schedule page. By clicking on the "Match-Up" link, Members proceed to the Match-Up options page with the Away and Home Teams preselected from the scheduled game.
Members can also change the "Select Period" that they wish to use for the Match-Up they wish to view. In addition to changing the "Select Period", Members can also choose other teams from the "Select Away Team" or "Select Home Team" drop down list just like in the Match-Up Selector page. Just remember to "Select Period" to load the Match-Up Options page.
Match-Ups Options Page
Once Away and Home Teams and the Match-Up period has been selected Members are presented with the "Match-Up Options Page". This page is organized into the following sections:

- Team's Vitals
- Season Win|Loss and Rankings Summary
- Player Selection Section
- Team's Season Statistics
- Team's Last 18 Games Statistics
- Team's Head to Head Statistics
Each section of the Match-Up Options Page is designed to present key information to assist Members in their analysis of the Match-Up. Members will also have options to adjust game props that will go into the algorithm calculations that analyzes the Match-Up of the NBA Game.
Match-Up Game Details
Match-Up Game Details includes:
- O|U: Odds Total
- TOTAL: Total Points Scored for the Match-Up
- Split: Away Points - Home Points
- Line: Odds Margin
If you are on the Match-Up Selector page the Match-Up Details are for the last meeting between the two teams. If you selected the Match-Up from the NBA Game Schedule page the details are for that game.
Included in Match-Up Details is a list for each Team of their next 3 games (if any).
Team Vitals
Team Weight, Team Age and Team Height are each Team's averages as of the Date of the Match-Up Game Details.

The Season Win|Loss and Ranking Summary element shows Team Rankings for the current season, the last 2 Seasons and the last 18 games. If the Match-Up occurs during the Playoffs then it will display Team Rankings for the Playoffs and the Regular Season combined with the Playoffs.
The headings for the Team Rankings:
- VENUE: Venue indicates whether the records are for Away and Home combined records (@||H), Away records (@||) or Home records (|H|).
- RNK|OFF: is for the Team's Points Average Offensive Rankings while
- RNK|DEF: is for the Team's Points Average Defensive Rankings
- +|-: is for the difference between the the Team's Offensive PTS and the Team's Defensive PTS
- RNK W|L: is the Team's Win (W) and Loss (L) Rankings
Player Selection Section
Change Players Button: By clicking this button the Member will have the option to select different players as either "Starters" or "Bench" players.
Confirm Players Button: By clicking this button the Member will confirm player selections for the Match-Up
Below, clicking on the player's name will toggle between selecting and unselecting the player. Light blue indicates selection while dark blue indicates unselecting.
Each player has a position setting. For "Starters", positions 1 through to 5 are available while for "Bench" players, positions 6 through to 11 are available for selection. The position number of each player corresponds to the position number of the opposing Team's player and will affect the player algorithm. By default the players are sorted in descending order based on the number of games and minutes each player has played through the course of the season.
Each selected player for each team must have a unique Position number otherwise the calculations for the Match-Up algorithms will not work.

Team's Season Statistics
This section shows each Team's average statistics for the Regular Season, the Last 2 Seasons and the Last 18 Games ("Tier 4"). If the Match-Up occurs during the Playoffs it will convert to statistics for the Playoff's, Playoff plus Regular Season and the Last 18 Games covering both the Regular season and the Playoffs.
Team's Last 18 Games Statistics
This section lists the Boxcores for each Team's last 18 games.
Members have the option to select:
- Recent 18 Box: The Team's last 18 games
- Vs. Top 10: The Team's last 18 games against top 10 ranked opponents
- Vs. Mid 20: The Team's last 18 games against teams ranked from 11 to 20
- Vs. Low 30: The Team's last 18 games against teams ranked from 21 to 30
- Rankings are based on win loss record to the date of the Match-Up
Team's Head to Head Statistics
This section shows the Head to Head statistics of games played between the 2 teams. By Default the last 12 games between the two teams are shown. The number of games selected will have an effect on the Match-Up algorithm calculations. Members have the choice of listing 12 games, 9 games or 6 games.
Team Venue Selection and Options
The following buttons can toggle between 3 Venue options:
- @||: Away Statistics
- A|@|H: Away and Home Statistics
- |H|: Home Statistics
The following sections have options to select the Venue statistics for calculation of the NBA Game Match-Up algorithms:
- Player Selection Section
- Team's Season Statistics
- Team's Last 18 Games Statistics
- Team's Head to Head Statistics
A change of Venue for any of the aforementioned sections will result in different algorithm calculations for the Match-Up page.
Activating the Match-Up Algorithms
Once you are satisfied with your selected players, venue selections, last 18 game selections and head to head selections it is time to "Get Match-Up".
To get the Match-Up click on the "Get Match-Up" Button.
NBA Game Match-Up Page
Once the "Get Match-Up" Button has been clicked the Match-Up Algorithm will be calculated and a new page will appear to display them. The Algorithm Calculations page still incorporates the elements of the Match-Ups Options page but now the data incorporates the options that you have selected.
The Match-Up Page is divided into the following sections that have changed or been added to the Match-Up Options page:
- The Algorithm Match-Up Section
- Player Statistics Section
- Team's Head to Head Statistics Section
- Recent Team's Games Statistics Section
- Team's Statistics Section
Besides the Algorithm Match-Up Section all the other sections have statistics categorized as "Boxscore" statistics, "Shooting" statistics and "Hustle" statistics. Click on each button to toggle between the different statistical types.
By default the Boxscore statistic for each section is displayed.
The Algorithm Match-Up Section
This section is the the most complex section of the Match-Ups Feature of ZoneWon1.com. Within this section, all the data from the various Match-Ups Options page is processed to produce a set of results that tries to evaluate the outcome of the NBA Game. Because of its complex nature a description and instructions on its use will be given after describing the use of the other sections.
Player Statistics Section
This section displays the statistics for the players that were selected in the Match-Up Options page. All statics are for averages.
A key feature of the Player Statistics Section is the ability to get the last 10 game statistical logs for the chosen player. By toggling the "⇩|⇧" buttons at the end of the row, you will be able to extend the player's row to reveal a log of the players last 10 games.
Team's Head to Head Statistics Section
This section displays the statistics for each Team's head to head record as per the selected options from the Match-Up Options page.
Recent Team's Games Statistics Section
This section displays the statistics for each Team's most recent games based on the options selected from the Match-Up Options page.
Team's Statistics Section
This section displays each Team's aggregated statistics for the "Regular" season, the last "2 Seasons" and the "Tier 4" recent games statistics for the last 18 games. If the Match-Up occurs during the Playoffs then the statistics are adapted for the Playoffs by incorporating Playoff data.
The Algorithm Match-Up Section
This section of the Match-Up incorporates all the elements that go into the making of the Algorithms that is used to analyze the outcome of the Match-Up.
The Algorithm Match-Up section is separated into further sections that complement the development and calculations of the Algorithms that determine the Match-Up. These sections are:
- Game Odds Result
- Final Aggregated Predicted Team Scores
- Summary of Algorithm Types
- Algorithm Adjustment Control Board
- Post Match-Up to Playbook
Game Odds Result
This section gives an overview of the Game Results compared to the publicly listed NBA game odds for the Match-Up as well as comparisons to the Algorithms from the Match-Up.
The odds that are compared include odds for Game Total, Game Margin and the MoneyLine (Head to Head Favorite|Underdog). The comparison will only be available at the conclusion of the NBA Game

On the left are the margin odds for collected live odds while on the right are the margin odds at close. A "W" indicates Win and "L" indicates Loss when compared to the results of the Algorithm Analysis.
The Table on top at center is the result of the MoneyLine compared to the Algorithm result as well as each teams Win or Loss compared to the MoneyLine.
The two tables at the bottom are the results for the Over and Under (Game Total) compared to the results of the Algorithm and match Totals Odds.
Final Aggregated Predicted Team Scores
The Result of the Algorithms and their calculations aggregate to produce a set of Game Scores based upon those algorithms. These results of the algorithms are presented here in this section of the NBA Game Match-Ups.
The table below is a summary of the number of algorithm lines that each Team has scored more than the other Team. Each Line represents one Algorithm and its calculations.

The table below represents the aggregation of all the lines produced from each algorithm and the results of the Game. The "Difference" is the difference between the default "Calculated" line compared to the "Adjusted" line.
Odds are published from FanDual and are used to determine the results for the Algorithm Lines.

Summary of Algorithm Types
There are 5 Algorithm Types that are aggregated to produce the Final Algorithm. These are:
- Head to Head: Algorithm based on Team Head to Head statistics
- Live Tier 18: Recent Team Games Algorithm
- Rank A: Boxscore Comparison Algorithm
- Rank B: Boxscore Comparison Algorithm
- Player Algorithm: Player Boxscore Algorithm
Each Algorithm Type represents a different method used to calculate the Match-Up algorithm Game Scores based on various factors and arithmetics. Below are the various algorithm Box tables that score the Away Team and the Home Team as well as the corresponding Game Score Totals and Game Score Margin.
All 5 Algorithm Types are further aggregated into a summary of their various Season Algorithm types below.
Together all 6 Algorithm Summary Tables are aggregated to give the final Aggregation of predicted NBA Game Scores in the Match-Up.
Algorithm Adjustment Control Board
Members have the ability to make adjustments to the various Algorithm types by adjusting their corresponding vectors and imputed factors. Below is a sample of the Algorithm Adjustment Control Board. Members should play around with each control to see how the Algorithms are adjusted in real time and affect the final results fo the algorithms at work.
Vector Totals: These Vectors can be adjusted up or down. Each adjustment will add 0.5 points to the Team's projected Total.
Offensive Vectors: These Vectors can be adjusted up or down. Each adjustment will increase or decrease the selected Algorithm Variable to adjust the projected Team's score. The "Top" Vector will make an adjustment up or down on all the algorithms
Defensive Vectors: These Vectors can be adjusted up or down. Each adjustment will increase or decrease the selected Algorithm Variable to adjust the projected Team's score. The "Top" Vector will make an adjustment up or down on all the algorithms
Post Match-Up to Playbook
Finally After you are satisfied with the adjustments and options you can now "Post Match-Up" to your own "Playbook" account that will keep a record of your Post that you can view in your Playbook Page.
To Post the Result of your selected Match-Up click the button that looks like the one above.
Member Playbook Page
The Member Playbook Page is your own personal playbook that keeps a track off all your NBA Game Match-Up Posts.
Your Playbook Page categorizes your Posts into:
- Latest Playbook: is a record of your last 100 Match-Up Posts
- Season Playbook: is a record of the current NBA Season Match-Up Posts
- Complete Playbook: is a record of all your Match-Up Posts
For each Season Type Category of your Playbook there are further sub-categories that record the various Algorithm Types and their comparison to the Odds Market with the actual Game Results.
